In an impressive showcase of skill and determination, cyclists from Ligbron Academy recently took on the challenges of the Mankele XCM mountain bike race, securing notable positions across various categories.
In the 15km Open Women's race, Chane Barnard led the charge for Ligbron, finishing in a commendable 6th place, followed closely by Landi Pelser, who secured the 13th position.
In the 15km Open category, Dewald Drotsky represented Ligbron and finished 24th.
The 35km Junior race was a standout event for the academy. Armand Nel claimed a remarkable third place, demonstrating not only his cycling prowess but also the high level of training provided at Ligbron.
In the Masters category, Grové Eksteen rode to success, finishing 5th.
The 50km Junior race was particularly fruitful for Ligbron. Kenneith Barnard led the academy's efforts with a solid 4th place finish, closely followed by Will vd Venter in 6th and AJ Bekker in 7th. These results underscore the competitive edge and teamwork among Ligbron's junior cyclists.
In the Sub Vets category, Duane Purcocks represented the academy and secured a solid 5th place, adding another notable achievement to Ligbron's impressive haul from the Mankele XCM.
