Members of the Ermelo Athletics Club delivered a strong showing at a recent race event in Volksrust, competing across distances from 5km to 42km and bringing home impressive times.
Zelda Keyzer was the standout performer in the 10km, finishing in a time of 51 minutes and securing 3rd place overall among the women. Annaline Weweje also completed the 10km, finishing in 1 hour 29 minutes.
In the marathon distance, Nico Weweje crossed the 42km line in 4 hours 45 minutes, while Frik Henning — not pictured — completed the same distance in 4 hours 53 minutes.
The club also had strong representation in the half marathon. Yolanda Rautenbach finished the 21km in 2 hours 36 minutes, with Cicile Koekemoer completing her race in 2 hours 3 minutes and Andries Koekemoer close behind at 2 hours 8 minutes.
For the 5km event, Marioné Erasmus clocked a time of 56 minutes, rounding off a successful day of participation for the club.
The Ermelo Athletics Club continues to represent the town with pride, showcasing dedication and resilience across all race categories.
