Ermelo Wrestlers Shine at TUKS Open

Ermelo’s wrestling talent was on full display at the recent TUKS Challenge Open, with local athletes delivering impressive performances across multiple age divisions and securing podium finishes in both the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place categories.

In the 1st Place standings, Ermelo celebrated gold medals from WP Human (Above 16 F/S & Pres Junior F/S), Wynand vd Westhuizen (Pres Junior F/S), AJ van Niekerk (U/11 F/S), JC de Villiers (U/10 F/S), Wian van Zyl (U/11 F/S), MJ de Villiers (U/13 F/S), Danie Strydom (U/8 F/S) and Ewan de Wet (U/8 F/S). Their dominant performances contributed significantly to the club’s strong showing at the prestigious event.

Ermelo continued their momentum in the 2nd Place category, where Wynand vd Westhuizen (Above 16 F/S), Divan van Zyl (U/13 F/S), Keanu V Loggerenberg (U/9 F/S) and Zion Leonard (U/9 F/S) all secured silver medals.

Adding to the medal tally in the 3rd Place division were David de Wet (Pres School F/S) and Lohan van Niekerk (U/15 F/S), rounding off a successful outing for the Ermelo wrestling club.

The results reflect the depth of talent and dedication within the Ermelo wrestling community, as athletes continue to compete confidently against strong opposition at major tournaments.
