In a joint operation, an armed suspect was arrested on 16 February on the N2 road near the Camden power station.
The arrest follows after the Pongola police shared information about a suspect who was involved in a serious armed robbery. According to the information, the man was in the taxi in question and was armed.

Members of the local security group ACSU, together with the Ermelo Police, responded immediately and successfully pulled over and searched the taxi.

During the operation, the suspect was positively identified and arrested. Officers also confiscated an illegal firearm that was in his possession.
