The Ermelo community is being thanked for playing a vital role in helping a young local talent take the next step toward a promising culinary career.

Mayrigh, who has shown a passion for baking and creating from a very young age, has officially begun his journey at culinary school. According to his supporters, “from a very young age, Mayrigh displayed an incredible talent and passion for baking and creating.” That passion, combined with strong community support, has helped shape his path.

The message of gratitude highlights how the Ermelo community and several local businesses stood behind him since he was just 14 years old. “Through various courses and opportunities made possible by your generosity, he was able to grow and develop his skills at such a young age,” they shared. That early encouragement laid the foundation for his acceptance into Baked Academy in Johannesburg, where he is now pursuing his dream.

A special word of thanks was extended to the Community Uplifting Group for their support through the Christmas Market and Masquerade Ball in 2025, and for walking the journey alongside him. While there are still some funds needed, his supporters expressed their faith that provision will continue, saying they trust that God will make a way.

“To every individual and business in the Ermelo community who opened their hearts and contributed — thank you ... from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in him and for helping make this dream come true.”
