Ligbron learner Kyle Breytenbach delivered an outstanding performance at the South African Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships, winning a gold medal in the U15 division in his weight category.

The championship, held on 30 May 2026 at the Gauteng North Wrestling Hall in Pretoria, was the largest Greco-Roman wrestling competition ever hosted in South Africa. A record 591 wrestlers from across the country took part, with athletes from U8 to senior level competing under one roof.

Greco-Roman wrestling is one of the oldest Olympic sports, having featured at the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896.

Kyle's gold-medal achievement is a remarkable accomplishment and a proud moment for both Ligbron and the local wrestling community.

Congratulations to Kyle on his success.
