Following the rapid earthworks and infrastructure completed during the earlier phase of the Border Street development, progress has continued with the erection of steel structures for Phase 2, marking another major step forward for the project.

The latest work was carried out by Chris Drotsky and the team from DC Staalwerke, whose professionalism and efficiency stood out as they completed the steel erection for Building 3 in record time, with work on Building 4 set to follow.

The newly erected steel structures now give the development its first clear building profile, transforming what was previously an open construction site into a recognisable commercial development.

According to information provided, the work on Building 3, approximately 1 200 square metres in size, was completed in about five days from start to finish — including work carried out over the weekend. The quality of the work has been described as excellent, with precision, efficiency and a strong emphasis on workmanship and accuracy throughout the process.

While Chris Drotsky from DC Staalwerke delivered this phase with speed and precision, he is also involved in significantly larger projects, both previously completed and currently underway — with this development serving as a strong example of the same high standards applied across all his work.

The pace of construction continues the momentum established during the earlier phases of the project, with a 10-day period — 1 to 11 September 2025 — having been completed in record time. During that time, crews removed 84 interlink loads of material, amounting to approximately 1 520m³, while importing 460 interlink loads of G6 material weighing about 16 341 tonnes. The operation relied on a large fleet of trucks, graders, loaders, rollers, excavators and water carts, supported by mobile lighting and on-site facilities to keep work progressing on schedule.

Northbay extended its appreciation to the professionals and contractors involved thus far, with particular thanks to Chris Drotsky and DC Staalwerke for their professionalism, efficiency and commitment to the project. Their contribution has played a key role in maintaining the project’s strong pace, with their work recognised as a standout example of quality and reliability on site. Their approach reflects the standard required to keep fast-moving projects on track.

With the steel structure for Building 3 now in place, the Border Street development moves into its next construction phase as work continues toward completing the new commercial facility.
