Laerskool Ermelo has once again demonstrated why it is regarded as one of the leading schools in the region, with the school celebrating multiple achievements that recognise both its educators and the support of its community.

The school recently received the Highvelder Best of Ermelo Readers' Choice Award 2025 as the Best Primary School in Ermelo. The award reflects the confidence and support shown by parents, learners and the wider community, with the school expressing its gratitude to everyone who voted and continues to contribute to its pursuit of excellence.

Among the school's outstanding educators, Mrs Natasha Venter, a Grade 7 English teacher, was awarded first place in the District round of the National Teaching Awards in the Excellence in Primary School Teaching category. Her achievement sees her advance to the next stage of the competition, where she will represent the district.

Ms Sulandie Grobbelaar, the school's Grade 6 Mathematics teacher, was recognised with second place in the District round of the National Teaching Awards in the Excellence in Mathematics Teaching category. Her award acknowledges her dedication to developing mathematical skills and inspiring learners in the classroom.

Another proud moment came with Mrs Sphindile Harricks, the Grade 6 English teacher, who secured second place in the Excellence in Primary School Teaching category. Her recognition highlights the quality of teaching and commitment to learner development that she consistently demonstrates.

The school also noted that all three teachers who represented Laerskool Ermelo at the District National Teaching Awards returned with prizes, an exceptional accomplishment that reflects the high standard of education offered at the school. The educators were joined at the awards by Acting Circuit Manager Mr Nhlabati, who shared in celebrating their success.

Congratulating its award recipients, Laerskool Ermelo said these achievements are a testament to the dedication of its staff and the continued support of its learners, parents and community. The school reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education while continuing to strive for excellence in every aspect of school life.
