Motorists who patiently waited for months as massive wind turbines made their way through town can soon enjoy the “power” of their patience.
The Ummbila Emoyeni Wind Energy Facility near Bethal is entering commercial operation, adding renewable electricity to the national grid and strengthening South Africa’s energy system — hopefully bringing us a little closer to a load-shedding-free future.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially mark the commencement of commercial operations at the facility on Friday, 31 July, highlighting an important milestone in South Africa’s transition towards renewable energy.
