ERMELO – Residents who have been watching the large commercial development taking shape along Border Street and wondering what businesses may eventually occupy the site now have at least one answer, with BUCO Ermelo announced as coming soon to the development.
In a statement released by the company’s marketing team, BUCO confirmed that it will be opening in Ermelo, promising customers quality building materials, trusted brands, expert advice and service. The company has not yet announced an official opening date, saying further updates will follow as the opening approaches.
The announcement comes as construction at the Border Street development continues to progress from the extensive earthworks and infrastructure completed during the earlier stages of the project into the erection and development of the commercial buildings themselves.
During one of the initial phases, crews removed 84 interlink loads of material, amounting to approximately 1 520m³, and imported 460 interlink loads of G6 material weighing about 16 341 tonnes between 1 and 11 September 2025. The site then progressed to structural work, with Chris Drotsky and the team from DC Staalwerke completing the approximately 1 200m² steel structure for Building 3 in about five days, while Building 4 was identified as the next structure to follow.
The development has steadily transformed from an open construction site into a recognisable commercial facility, with the BUCO announcement now providing the public with the first confirmed indication of what is set to form part of the completed Border Street project.
