Eight learners from Ermelo High School showcased their public speaking talent at a national level this past weekend during the national round of the Interschool Public Speaking League at Wits University.
The competition brought together some of the country's strongest schools and orators, with the Erries performing excellently and achieving several places in the top 10 nationwide.

Kara McKenzie achieved ninth place in the Grade 10 unprepared Afrikaans division, as well as fifth place in the unprepared English division.
Karli van Schalkwyk finished fifth in the Grade 12 unprepared Afrikaans division, while Miané Swanepoel achieved eighth place in the Grade 11 prepared Afrikaans division.
Madri van Niekerk finished seventh in the Grade 12 preparatory English division.

The Grade 8 team, consisting of Attie Joubert, Miechke Mostert, Zené Griesel and Milan Zwarts, also performed excellently in the prepared Afrikaans division and achieved eighth place nationwide.
With all of Ermelo High School's entries finishing in the top 10 of their respective divisions, the learners represented the school with pride at the national level.
