Erries Celebrate 112-Year Milestone
Hoërskool Ermelo marked a proud milestone on 11 April, celebrating 112 years of heritage and excellence. Generations of learners have walked its halls, each adding to a legacy that continues to shape the future.
As the principal Mnr. Pieter Grobler shared, “From my side, I’m wishing the school a happy birthday on its 112 years and looking forward to the next 10 years.” A celebration not only of the past, but of a bright and promising future ahead.

Hoërskool Ermelo is inviting prospective learners and parents to its 2026 Open Day, offering a chance to experience the school’s environment and opportunities first-hand. The theme encourages visitors to “step into another dimension” and explore what the school has to offer

Sport Round-Up: Erries vs Lydenburg
Hoërskool Ermelo’s sporting teams delivered a strong set of performances across rugby, netball, and hockey fixtures played on 10 April 2026 against Lydenburg.
Rugby:
Erries’ teams led from the front with dominant performances. The u/14A (41–0), u/15A (56–5), and u/16A (46–0) sides all secured convincing victories. The 1st XV faced a tougher encounter, going down 12–19 in a closely contested match. The second team added to the success with a solid 34–0 win.
Netball:
The netball teams also impressed on court, with the u/14A (21–10) and u/15A (22–19) securing wins, while the 1st team delivered a strong 23–13 victory. The u/16A side contributed with a 17–9 win, rounding off a positive showing for the A teams. Other fixtures included a narrow loss for the second team (10–17) and the u/16B match (7–12).
Girls Hockey (Dogtershokkie):
In girls hockey, the u/14A side played to a 2–2 draw, while the u/16A team recorded a 4–0 victory. The 1st team narrowly lost 1–2 in a competitive match. The u/15 team stood out with a 7–0 win, and the second team secured a 5–0 victory.
Boys Hockey (Seunshokkie):
The boys hockey teams faced strong opposition, with the u/14A side going down 0–7 and the u/16A team playing to a 0–0 draw. The 1st team lost 0–3 in their fixture.
